History of Carolina
Country Homes

How it started

Started in 1998 by David Amigo, Carolina Country Homes soon established itself as one of the premier installers of high-quality modular homes across South Carolina and the Metrolina region of North Carolina.

Where we are now

In 2015, the company was taken over by current owner, Mark Street. Looking to solidify Carolina Country Homes’ reputation as the finest modular home builder in the South, Mark formed connections with a wider array of manufacturers. This strategic move expanded our offerings, providing customers with increased options for customizing their homes. With a deep understanding of our community’s needs and a passion for innovative construction, we have helped countless families find their perfect home. We’re based in Lancaster, SC, and we continue to design and install high-quality modular homes throughout South Carolina and the Metrolina region of North Carolina.

Why Modular Homes?

Modular homes offer numerous advantages over traditional stick-built homes, and mobile homes including:

  • Speed of Construction: Modular homes can be completed in a fraction of the time it takes to build a conventional home.
  • Quality Control: Constructed in a controlled factory environment, modular homes are built to exacting standards with consistent quality.
  • Personalization: With our flexible and affordable building process, we can personalize your home with a variety of options from four manufacturers.
  • Longevity: Unlike mobile homes and HUDs, modular homes retain their structural quality over years, appreciating in value.
  • Availability: Quality site builders are difficult to find in rural areas. Often they will be busy and offer limited options.
  • Affordability: Mass produced in factories, modular homes give you the economies of scale.

About the Owner

Mark’s Journey to Carolina Country Homes

Originally from the UK, Mark began his career in the steel industry before transitioning to equipment rental. His diverse experience eventually led him to join a large global engineering group, which transferred him to the US in 1996. Over the next 16 years, Mark held various key positions within their Automotive Franchising group, starting as their CFO and eventually taking on roles in Operations, International Development, and Franchise Development. By the end of 2012, Mark decided to leave the group and spend a couple of years consulting in franchise development.

In 2015, seeking a sense of belonging and a new challenge, Mark purchased Carolina Country Homes. Drawing on his extensive background in sales processes and operations, he quickly adapted to the construction industry. Mark broadened the brand's reach by partnering with various manufacturers, notably R-Anell, Champion, Schult and Nationwide to provide customers with higher quality products and extensive personalization and customization options.

Fast forward to today, and Mark has assembled a team of site superintendents that have some serious construction experience. His leadership and vision have been instrumental in establishing Carolina Country Homes as the builder of choice for modular homes in the region, certainly for people that have more difficult lots.
